Our Managing Director, Chris Hart, had a fantastic three days at Newcastle Universityattending the 19th UK Heat Transfer Conference which brought together industry leaders, academics, and thermal engineering experts.
The event included a variety of talks, and bringing together leading academics, industry sessions and cutting-edge research in heat transfer.
Keynote speeches inclued
- Dr Raya Al-Dadah (University of Birmingham) – sustainable energy technologies, adsorption heat pumps, organic Rankine cycles, solar energy
- Prof Hector Iacovides (University of Manchester) – convective heat transfer, turbulent flows, natural and mixed convection
- Prof Ali Kosar (Sabanci University, Turkiye) – micro heat sinks, microfluidic devices, cavitation on chip
Self-hosted AI systems
Chris delivered a talk on our transition from traditional document searching to an autonomous, self-hosted AI system (Agentic RAG) built specifically for chemical engineering and heat transfer research. Operating entirely on-premise, this setup bridges the gap between massive technical literature and fast, multi-step problem solving, without ever compromising data privacy.
It was a great opportunity to showcase how cutting-edge AI tools are delivering huge speed and efficiency gains for both our engineering team and our clients.
